The benefit: gratitude can help you calm down in demanding moments

Gratitude causes the brain to produce an increase in dopamine (a neurotransmitter that’s related to feelings of pleasure and reward-motivated behaviour) and serotonin (a neurotransmitter believed to help regulate mood and social behaviour). Research suggests thinking of things you are grateful for has a positive impact on how you feel and behave.
